I worked on two panels today, erasing and layering. It's become quite ...floral and ... Female. I guess it's inevitable, being a female and all. Damn vagina.
Unhappy with the overall 'look' of the painting. A friend of mine suggested painting blobs over existing blobs, good idea.
Also played with the hue/saturation a bit on the computer.
I hate to acknowledge, accept the fact that art and art making is personally therapeutic. I find it a weakness that I loathe as much as a self conscious overweight teenage girl would loathe her figure. Its how I imagine a rotting and liquifying cadaver would smell. It is uneasy to find myself in situation where I realize, and I mean actually feel how art making allowed escapism, allowed a relief from anxiety. I would search and take whatever to explain what I create in order to avoid anything to do with 'therapy'. It is an obvious conclusion there's a connection for this thinking and personal therapy sessions I've had. I've come to accept this fact now but doesn't mean I like it. It is weakness and exposure on display.
Ohh what,
Doing me head in, not the painting and research but the theory component of my course.
Words are so difficult to work with. Cant rearrange them freely, but neccessary to do honors next year. Makes me sad word are the problem.
Anyways here are 4/6 boards so far.
Can't wait to start on some drawings, but dammit, everything has to be relevant because it is relevant.
Played with this stuff last year too but used it as models for drawing in an abstraction class.
Fun to use it again and build something bigger.
I am thinking of pouring a shiny thick substance, enamel?, over it then cast it in silicone - the stuff is nightmare expensive and heavyish but oh so brilliant.
Below is also how the painting looks so far. Lots of fun mistakes pissing me off..in a good way.
